Braised Chestnut Chicken (焖栗子鸡) – Song-Cho Electric Thermal Cooker SC-ETC60 (松厨微电加热式焖烧锅)

Song-Cho Electric Thermal Cooker (SC-ETC60) allows a constant temperature of 90 degrees. Try this yummy braised chestnut chicken!

Serves 4


  • Chicken pieces 1.5 kg (washed & pat dry)
  • Chestnut 20 pcs
  • Chinese Mushroom 4 pcs (soaked & cut into medium size pieces)
  • Garlic 3 cloves (peeled & sliced)
  • Ginger 6 slices
  • Spring Onion 1 stalk (cut into sections)
  • Light Soy Sauce 2 tbsp
  • Dark Soy Sauce 2 tbsp
  • Oyster Sauce 2 tbsp
  • Sugar 2 tsp
  • Water a few tbsp


  1. Add oil into the stainless steel pot provided. One heated up, add ginger, garlic and green onion, stir-fry slightly.
  2. Add chicken, Chinese mushroom, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce and oyster sauce, mix well.
  3. Add water, sugar and chestnuts, mix well and bring it to a boil.
  4. Close the lid and cook over the stove 10 minutes in medium heat.
  5. Remove the pot from the stove and place it into the Electric Thermal Cooker.
  6. Switch on the power and leave it for at least 1 hour.
  7. After an hour, open the Electric Thermal Cooker and check that the chicken is thoroughly cooked. Leave it for another 15 to 30 minutes if not fully cooked. Served with rice once ready (You may choose to switch off the power).





  • 鸡肉块 1.5公斤 (洗净拍干)
  • 栗子 20粒
  • 香菇 4朵 (浸泡软, 切块)
  • 蒜头 3瓣 (去皮切片)
  • 姜 6片
  • 青葱 1段 (洗净切段)
  • 酱青 2汤匙
  • 酱油 2汤匙
  • 蚝油 2汤匙
  • 白糖 2茶匙
  • 清水 适量


  1. 将油倒入所提供的不锈钢锅中, 当锅热时加入姜片, 蒜片和青葱段稍微翻炒一下
  2. 加入鸡肉块, 香菇, 酱青, 酱油和蚝油翻炒均匀
  3. 最后加入清水, 白糖和栗子拌均匀后煮滚
  4. 关盖, 在火炉上以中火继续煮约10分钟
  5. 熄火把锅子移到微电加热式焖烧锅内
  6. 开电源, 让它焖至少1小时
  7. 1小时后, 开盖试试是否鸡肉已熟透, 如果还没熟透, 让它继续焖约15至30分钟. 熟透后, 盛入碗中即可配饭享用 (你可选择继续插电或关掉电源)
